Hensley, administrator of the are a hospital, reported to the hospital's Board of Directors at their regular monthly meeting held Wednesday evening at the hospital. "This does not mean, however, that there were 1,838 individuals treated at the tal during the eight weeks camping season but it shows that campers and 'c a personnel made 1,838 visits to the emergency x-ray department and laboratory department. For example, a camper comes to the hospital for treatment and he is seen in the hospital's emergency room and then x-rays are ordered for the child. This, then, would mean two visits, one to the emergency room and one to the X-ray department, by one individual." Mrs. Hensley added.
Continuing his report to the Board, Mr. Hensley said that the 291 adult admissions to the hospital during August had set a record for the hospital for admissions for any one month. Of these admissions, 66 to 23 per (cent a Medicare daily average patients, of There 72 patients in the hospital each day of the month which also sets a record for the hospital for a daily average census in any one month. Adult and pediatric patients during Augus treceived 2,224 days of care. There were 30 babies born at hospital during the past month of whom 19 were boys and 11 were girls.
Other statistics for August: Major: operations, 40. minor operations, 77; transfusions given, 41; casts placed on patients, 85; x-rays taken, laboratory tests, pap stains examined 96; meals served patients treated deaths, 20. Mr. Hensley added that the Eastman Kodak M-5 X-ray film processor has purchased and that delivery of this $7,200 piece of equipment is expected shortly. He continued by saying that the hospital has received very generous contributions from several camps in the area to assist in financing this project.
